Westside Residence | A Contemporary Retreat
Kansas City, MO
This 15-year-old Westside Kansas City home was reimagined as a contemporary sanctuary for a young couple who love to entertain. The original saltbox-style structure was completely cleared out, with the rear of the house extended to create a new layout tailored to their lifestyle.
The redesigned main floor focuses on openness and connection to the outdoors, featuring large windows that frame views of the existing rear courtyard. A striking Venetian plaster fireplace and a floating steel staircase serve as dramatic focal points, elevating the space’s modern aesthetic while inviting warmth and light.
Upstairs, the new floor plan includes a spacious primary suite, a guest suite, and a convenient laundry center, offering both comfort and practicality. On the lower level, two additional bedrooms double as workspaces for the owner, a well-known content creator. A large family room with a wet bar and new outdoor access provides the perfect setting for casual gatherings and relaxation.
This transformation turned a dated property into a vibrant, modern retreat that reflects the owners’ vision for a stylish, functional space to live, work, and entertain.
