A Kansas native with deep roots in design and construction, Adam Anthony Pfeifer is a registered architect specializing in contemporary residential architecture, adaptive reuse, and urban multi-family development. Raised in a blue-collar construction family, Adam developed a passion for building and design early on, later honing his skills at Kansas State University, where he earned a Master of Architecture degree in 2009. His thesis project, hospice.house.untitled, was recognized for its innovative approach to end-of-life care spaces. Adam has since built a diverse career, collaborating with award-winning firms and leading significant projects such as the renovation of Kansas City’s iconic Power & Light Building.
In addition to his architectural practice, Adam has contributed to the field as an instructor at Kansas State University, teaching architectural structures and leading third-year design studios. His experience in academia further strengthens his ability to approach design with both creativity and technical precision.
Founded in 2010, Adam’s design studio evolved into apd_studios+, a collective specializing in architecture, interiors, and fabrication focused design.
